I was only a kid when I last went in to the camp as a day visitor and don't remember an outdoor pool, although I recall a paddling pool, I think.

I am guessing the indoor pool was in the building being demolished in this picture.

Thanks. Judging by the most recent photos it looks like you could just wonder into what's left of the camp through the hole where reception was, or is there some sort of fence to prevent that?

That early pic is of the swimming pool being demolished, it was the only indoor pool. Never been an outdoor one, but there was a boating lake to the right of the restaurant years ago

noticed the other day that the chalets along the front adjacent to the road are being stripped of all frames and doors,so the assumption must be they're demolishing all perimeter chalets from were you've photographed right round to the old entrance, then one side of the site will be totally cleared.

from the old entrance and all the way to the left, from the point of the old entrance there is nothing left standing to the north of the site, just piles of crushed rubble and piles of recyclable materials.

Still not the best of weather.

The buildings on the North half of the camp have now gone, all that is left is the trees, I wonder if they are in the plans for the estate ? and a small wall that was near the indoor pool.

much appreciated Joker, thanx for going to the trouble of taking the recent pics. I'm shocked at how bare it now looks. It took me awhile to realise that the road at the front of pic 4 was the carpark!! Looks so different

Even though I never went in the camp, I have driven, or been driven past it so many times throughout my life that this feels like saying a final goodbye to an old friend!

They certainly haven't mucked about with the demolition have they. Are we taking bets yet on how many weeks till it's all gone?

I'll put a fiver on 4 weeks (meaning there'll be 4 more weekly updates after this one but by the time it's time to take pictures for the 5th weekly update, there'll be nothing left to take pictures of (no buildings standing anyway).

To put it another way I would say the demolition crew are planning to be out of there before Christmas.
